Welcome to ΕρΓΑ!

The ΕρΓΑ Lab is affiliated with the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece). ΕρΓΑ is part of the Division of CS Theory.

ΕρΓΑ addresses problems in scientific and geometric computing, with a current emphasis on geometric approximation algorithms and data science. Our core expertise lies in computational algebra, the study and solution of polynomial equations, as well as computational, convex, and metric geometry. Based on software development, we employ our methods for the mathematical modeling of the physical world, with specific applications ranging from robotics and structural bioinformatics, to geometric modeling and CAD, up to a more recent activity in financial modeling. The Lab was founded in 2002 and is headed by Professor Ioannis Emiris.

ΕρΓΑ, from July 1st, is part of the joint research team AROMATH affiliated with INRIA Sophia-Antipolis (France), as a development of our long-lasting collaboration with the former GALAAD team. Moreover, ΕρΓΑ also collaborates with the Institute for the Management of Information Systems of ATHENA Research and Innovation Center, Athens (Greece).
